What have you done to make government better?

Customer Service Government

The taxpayers are our customers. It is the governments job to serve with professionalism and efficiency everyday.

The job of our government is to provide the best quality services to our taxpayers. The West Chester Township Board of Trustees has worked with our Administration to build a team that provides the services our taxpayers expect.

Over the past six years, we have been moving our government into the 21st century - working to put our services online, both outward-facing for our taxpayers and inward facing for our team to become more efficient.

The Township established a biannual strategic plan to make sure our plans are thought out and implemented effectively.

We have implemented a Leadership Academy for our staff, teaching skills that will improve the quality of service in all departments now and in years to come.

The Township implemented a new 911 system that upgraded our first responder’s ability to reach you and give you the help that you need in an emergency.

Finances are one of the most important things that government does. To improve this process, West Chester implemented a new finance system, Tyler. This program upgraded our budgeting, billing, and payment system, streamlining the work that we do and giving our team space to better serve you.

The Township is updating our zoning code and putting it fully online. Right now it is in PDF form and is extremely difficult to search for what you are looking for. Later this year when the zoning code project is complete it will be fully searchable, making it easier for you to understand our zoning code.

Online forms and document submission is standard in business, but it is new to West Chester. Now we are able to submit park reservations, submit work requests, and submit building plans online.
